Deliverables
This is my final project for IST 531. Over the course of the semester, I went from knowing next to nothing about audio and video to feeling like I could do a good job as a content producer if I needed to in the course of my job as an instructional designer. It's a good feeling to learn a new skill, especially one that isn't part of my core skills. And that's what I really feel that I accomplished in this class. I learned a new skill and it reminded me that I can learn new things and do them well.
As for the video, I copped out a bit by doing a screen capture that isn't related to my final project but is relevant for my students at the current moment. This was captured on my Macbook Pro using the Camtasia software. I added some background music from Pixabay and a few extraneous on screen labels, inlcuding a great math joke at some point. I used the Personalization Principle to try to make the content seem less formal while also still staying relatively rigorous. It's a delicate balance to walk, but I feel like I do a good job of walking the line.
